Written by Shane FahertyMarch 11, 2011March 11, 2011 Some phone photos from around Cork Don't say they didn't warn you Grey Heron and Little Egret next to Parnell Bridge in Cork City Grey Heron and Little Egret close up. The little egret is a member of the heron family and a recent migrant to Ireland. The first recorded incident of them breeding in Ireland was in 1995 in Little Island, Cork. It's a rare treat so see these two members of the heron family so close together, especially in an urban setting.
